300.00

Made by the Pardhi Community of Central India, the whistle that you now hold in your hand perfectly imitates the call of a francolin or a ‘teetar’, a bird from the partridge family with a high pitched call. Accomplished users that they are, members of the community claim that every time they play the whistle, a francolin is sure to respond. The whistle is said to be made from the bark of the Khair tree (Senegalia catechu).

Tribes are an inherent part of nature. We at Nature Works, take pride in bringing their brilliant craft & traditional knowledge to the mainstream society for supporting alternative livelihood opportunities. We hope that having this whistle will tune you into supporting the efforts for conservation of our flora, fauna & communities.
